“Society Without Violence” NGO announces a photo/painting contest titled “Women for reconciliation and peace”. In the frames of the project Armenian and Turkish women will raise their voice and share their vision on reconciliation and lasting peace through art dialogue.
Female photographers, photo journalists, artists, activists or anybody interested to raise her voice for long lasting peace are encouraged to participate in this art contest through presenting their vision of women's role in conflict resolution and peace building.
The project will run in two countries: Armenia and Turkey. All submitted pieces of art will be exhibited in Yerevan and in Istanbul. The best 2 works per country will be selected based on the votes of exhibition visitors and professional jury of 3 people. The 4 winners (2 Armenians and 2 Turkish) will be invited to Tbilisi for the solemn Awards Ceremony where they will also participate in 2-day round table to share their thoughts on women's role in reconciliation process and long lasting peace building. The round table will give a safe and open space for a dialogue and mutual cooperation for young women from both countries.
Together with the winners, other interested stakeholders like women's rights activists, community leaders and female conflictologists, as well as media will take part in the round table.
Eligibility and Application Procedure:
The contest is open to all self-motivated women over 18 regardless their profession and/or occupation.
2. Application procedures:
The submission of works launches on 22 January up to March 15, 2014. The deadline for the submission is 15 March.
The Contest phases are as follows:
· Submission Phase - 22 January to 22 February, 2014
· Evaluation Phase - 22 February to 22 March, 2014
· Exhibition (where the winners will be announced) - 1 April -1 May, 2014
· Awards Ceremony - July, 2014, Tbilisi, Georgia.

By submitting their work for the contest, contestants whose works are selected either for exhibition or as a winning piece of work grant the organizers the right to use their works for the purpose of display on the contest related websites, promotional materials for the contest and the round table, and exhibitions before or after the announcement of the winners. The contestants grant the organizers the right to use their name and works for promotion in any media including radio, newspapers, other print publications, television, video, and/or distribution over the internet. The awarded works may be released to the news stream in any applicable form.
