“Take Action” Women’s political club, commenced since January 2019, is one of the unique programs aimed at empowering women. How can we empower women? We seek to combine both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, unite Armenia’s active women and vitally, give them a platform to express their opinion on various political events, empower them with the assistance of their teammates.
In this preparatory phase we are expanding the boundaries of the cooperation. On February, our team had meetings at Shirak and Lori Governor’s offices. During those meetings, representatives from the governor’s offices were introduced to the particularities of the project and perspective collaboration was drafted. It is of high importance to highlight that the most active participants will be given the opportunity to complete an internship at the local authorities’ offices. The project information is widely circulated among students and active women.
In the meantime, the public elaboration of the project remains as one of our focal objectives. On March 4, at “Article 3” SWV organized a public event named “Educational system: opportunity or obstacle for young women to enter politics”. The active discussion testified to the fact that our educational system is to the large extent non-gender-sensitive which poses many challenges for politically active women. The representative from political and educational sectors expressed their concerns about the disadvantages of our educational system and exchanged ideas of how reforms can be adopted.
“Act now, make a change”: this is our motto. We are ready to assist you, discuss your ideas, help you to raise your concerns.
